Rumor: Upcoming Nexus 5 and Nexus 7.7 Specs Leaked

Previously we heard news that LG has halted Nexus 4 production and gets ready for development of next gen Nexus device. Now new rumor spreads out from Korean media, leaks specs and price of this unconfirmed device, along with the successor of Nexus 7. It's said the next gen Nexus phone and tablet would be called Nexus 5 and Nexus 7.7 respectively. Both devices are believed to be announced at Google I/O (May 15th - 17th). The Nexus phone manufacturer, LG, would unveil its latest flagship --- Optimus G2 at MWC 2013 next month.

For specifications, the Nexus 5 comes with a 5-inch 1080p display with 440 ppi. Powered by a quad-core Tegra 4 processor, the phone has 2 GB of RAM, a 13 MP rear camera and a 3 MP front-facing one. It also runs newest Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie) OS.

For price issues, Google may continue the price strategy of Nexus 4. That is: $299 for 8 GB version and $349 for 16 GB version. If all of the specs and price rumors are true,we can imagine the Nexus 5 could be more popular than its predecessor.

Rumor also mentions a new tablet, the Nexus 7.7 (I wonder if it's made by Asus or LG). This machine is equipped with a 7.7-inch display in 1920 * 1200 pixels resolution and 294 ppi. It has the same processor, RAM, ROM and OS as the Nexus 5. Both cameras are 720p. As to the price, the 8 GB version of Nexus 7.7 is priced at $299.

Nexus 4, Google's currently co-branded phone,is always out of stock on Google Play in many countries. Customers who pre-orderd the phone have to wait a couple of weeks for shipping. Therefore, both Google and LG are criticized for their capacity. It's also reported that LG has only produced less than 400, 000 units of Nexus 4 in past 3 months. I wonder why Google continues to choose LG as the manufacturer of Nexus devices. Have you guys seen Sony's Xperia Z? What an impressive model at CES. Google should have chosen Sony other than LG, I think.
