What keywords can you describe those smartphones shown at CES 2013? 5-inch screen? Or quad-core processor? And what highlight of a phone can catch your eyes and easily help you tell it apart from other similar products? A larger screen? Or waterproof performance? Alcatel, the French device manufacturer, shows up a new handset to audience: One Touch Idol Ultra, currently the most thinnest smartphone in the world.

BBK Vivo X1, the former slimmest smartphone, is 6.55 mm in thickness. Now the Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra beats its predecessor by 0.1 mm thinner, becomes the new record holder.

The One Touch Idol Ultra is just 6.45 mm thick and comes with a 4.7-inch 720p AMOLED display, a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM and an 8.0 MP rear camera. The phone runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Alcatel also announces another 2 new models: the One Touch Idol and the One Touch Scribe HD. For the One Touch Idol, it's not as thin as the Ultra one, but Alcatel claims that this handset is "the lightest smartphone in its category" for its 110 grams in weight. This phone also runs Jelly Bean and has a 4.7-inch display, though it's an IPS one other than an AMOLED.
