Tutorial: How to Embed a YouTube Video Into PowerPoint 2010

How can I insert a YouTube video into PowerPoint 2010?
I'm a PowerPoint lover. Sometimes when I make a presentation, I use a video to show ideas in a more directly way. Then I have to put the video file and PPT file in the same folder and store it into my hard disk drive. These files are always too large to share with others. What's the solution? Yep, embedding an online video into PowerPoint instead of using a local one.

As we know, YouTube is a popular video sharing site. Since those videos are not related to any commercial secrets, I can upload it to YouTube and then insert/embed it to my PowerPoint Presentation.

If you're not familiar with this issue, please come with me. It's quite simple and fast.

Step 1 Get the old embed code
Visit YouTube and find the video that you wanna embed. You'll find a tab named "Share" below the video screen. Click the tab firstly and then click the "Embed" sub-tab. Now you can see the code in a small window. Don't copy it in a hurry because we still have a step to do. Remember to tick the box of "Use old embed code" below. The code changes after you tick the box. Now you can copy the code.

PS: Embed video size is also selectable. Choose a suitable size before copy the code.

Step 2 Embed video into PowerPoint 2010

Launch PowerPoint 2010 and open your file, choose a slide from which you wanna Play the YouTube video. Click Insert -> Video -> Video from Web Site…. on the upper toolbar. A dialogue box titled "Insert Video From Web Site" pops up. Now just past the old embed code to the box and click "Insert" button.

Step 3 Play the embedded video
A black rectangle object appears on the slide, indicating that you have successfully embed the video.

There are two ways to view the video. You can click Slide Show -> Start Slide Show > From Current Slide. You'll see the video with playback options and a controller bar, the same as it's shown on YouTube. Click the Play button in order to start the video. Moreover, you can press F5 key as a short cut to play video.

Well, this is how I embed a YouTube video into PowerPoint 2010. I've tried my best to explain the steps clearly. If you don't totally understand, here's also another good guide for you: 6 Methods to Insert YouTube Video into PowerPoint

Since I'm on PowerPoint 2010 now, it's inconvenient to show you how to do it on PowerPoint 2003/2007. If you need a tutorial on this issue, please feel free to read this article: How to play YouTube video in PowerPoint 2003/2007?

Samsung's unbreakable and flexible screen
Samsung, the largest smartphone manufacturer in the world, is getting ready for the CES2013. This show will be held on January 8 to 11. Some news claim that the company will announce its new generation flagship --- the Galaxy S4 smartphone. Yesterday a video teaser was posted on Samsung's official blog, hints "a new gadget is coming". Is that the case?
Samsung's unbreakable and flexible screen
According to the report from Reuters, the Samsung Galaxy S4 will have a 5-inch flexible and "innovative screen". Its resolution can reach 1920 * 1080 pixels, which can definitely be called Full HD screen. The PPI (Pixel Per Inch) of screen is 441, more higher than Galaxy S3's 306 and iPhone 5's 326. Moreover, Galaxy S4 is powered by a quad-core processor and has a 13 MP rear camera.

Samsung has sold more than 5 million Galaxy Note 2 and 30 million Galaxy S3 this year. If the rumors on Galaxy S4 comes true, there is no doubt that this monster will be one of the best selling smartphone in 2013. What would apple, Samsung's main opponent do? Will the iPhone 5S (or iPhone 6?) be unveiled early next year? Let's wait and see.

Rename to New Orleans Pelicans? Free Wallpapers of New Orleans Hornets

Hornets? Pelicans?
What, what? Some sources reported that NBA team New Orleans Hornets will be changing its nickname to New Orleans Pelicans. The change could happen as early as the 2013-14 season.

Founded in 1988, this team was originally based on Charlotte and named Charlotte Hornets. After years of struggle, the team drafted power forward Larry Johnson in 1991 and center Alonzo Mourning in 1992. These two players helped Hornets get its first playoff berth in franchise history.

In 2002, the Hornets moved to New Orleans and started to use current name. After a disappointed season with a franchise-worst record of 18–64, the team used its first round pick to select point guard Chris Paul in 2005. When hurricane Katrina attacked southeastern Louisiana and destroyed Hornets' base, the team was temporarily moved to Oklahoma City, played home games at the Ford Center. During the time, the team had named New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets.

On December 14, 2011, the Hornets agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers and sent Paul to Los Angeles in exchange for Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu, and a first-round draft pick. On May 30, the Hornets were awarded the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. In the 2012 Draft, the Hornets drafted Anthony Davis from the University of Kentucky with the 1st pick. They also drafted Austin Rivers from Duke University, with the 10th pick.

Anyway, it seems to be true that the Hornets will rename to Pelicans next season. Rumors also said Micheal Jordan, former NBA player and majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, is willing to bring the name"Hornets" back to Charlotte.

Here I collect some Hornets wallpapers in different periods. They can also be used as PowerPoint backgrounds. Enjoy!
