By doing this, the app can provide a more personal experience to Facebook users. The HTC First smartphone with Facebook Home optimization will be sold via AT&T on April 12, priced at $99.99. Moreover, the Facebook Home app will also be available for specific phone models, like HTC One X, One X+ and the upcoming HTC One, as well as Samsung’s Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note II and new Galaxy S4.

Two new features are brought by the Facebook Home app: Cover Feed and Chat Heads.

Cover Feed is what users see when they turn on the phone. It not only shows time and background but also displays photos and descriptions from Facebook friends. Updated statuses are shown on the upper side, so that users can easily scroll the screen to view photos, like them or leave comments.

4 Ways to View PowerPoint on Android Devices

Play PowerPoint on Android
Thanks to mobile technologies, smartphones and tablets now become parts of our daily life. We can't even imagine a future day without these gadgets. It sounds like people have abused these products for entertainments and become slaves to them.

No, that's not the case. Besides surfing Internet, playing games or watching movies, some people, especially businessmen and students, usually use mobile devices to watch PowerPoint files. What do they do that? For iOS devices, they have Keynote. Then how about Android based devices? How do people play PowerPoint on Android? In my opinion, there should be at least 4 methods.

Method 1: Office apps
Applications are software for mobile devices. On computers, we have Microsoft Office, on mobile devices, we have Office apps as well. The most popular Android Office apps include Documents To Go, Kingsoft Office, Quickoffice and so on. All of these tools, free or paid, can be found on Google Play. Users can easily download and install them on their devices.

It's worth pointing out the limitations of watching PowerPoint on Android with these apps. A PowerPoint presentation normally contains elements like fonts, animations, transitions, inserted video clips and background music. When you play PPT with mobile Office apps, these elements can't be shown.

Method 2: View PowerPoint online
Large screen Android devices has excellent performances on web browsing. As a consequence, we can upload PowerPoint to some file-sharing websites, such as Slideshare and SlideBoom. And we could view PowerPoint online with Android.

Method 3: Convert PowerPoint to PDF format
Converting PPT to PDF is also a not-bad idea when you want to send the file to others. The format could protect it from being unauthorized editing. Moreover, it's easy to find a free way to save PowerPoint to PDF.

Method 4: Convert PowerPoint to video
Are you looking for a solution to show PowerPoint on Android without losing effects? Well, here's the way. By using a PowerPoint to Android converter, one can easily change PPT to video with animation effects remained. With the help of high-performance processor and HD screen, it could be an enjoyment to display PowerPoint on Android devices!

How to Play PowerPoint on Sony Xperia Z Smartphone

Play PowerPoint on Sony Xperia Z
How to view PowerPoint on Xperia Z?
Good to be back! Just return from a 10-day vacation and continue to write something useful for everyone.

Today we'll focus on Sony's Xperia Z, a new smartphone which was introduced at CES 2013 last month. This gadget comes up with a 5-inch 1080p screen, a quad-core S4 Pro processor and a 13 MP rear camera. Besides, it brought more surprises to audience:
  • Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, a technology to make video content more bright and colorful.
  • Battery STAMINA Mode. When this mode is turned on, standby time can be extended up to 3 times longer than normal mode.
  • Dust and water resistance. The Xperia Z can survive in clean water for up to 30 minutes without any problems.
The Sony Xperia Z will hit European stores first on Feb 21. Thought the release day in the US is still unknown, we could image that the device is an edge tool for watching HD movies and playing HD games. Then how about playing PowerPoint on Sony Xperia Z? Android users may choose some Office apps from Google Play, such as Documents To Go, Kingsoft Office and so on. These apps can help users view PPT files on their Android devices. However, most of them may lead to the losses of animated effects. There are some leaked rumors on Microsoft Office for Android, but we may still have to wait for a long time before it's available.

Here I'll show you another way to watch PPT on Xperia Z. Since it's wonderful for playing HD videos on the phone, why not convert the PowerPoint presentations to video format and put them on it? To do the trick we need a tool --- the free download PowerPoint to Xperia Z video converter.

The conversion process is shown below:

Step 1 Download, install and launch PPT to Xperia Z video converter.

Step 2 Click "Add" button to import PowerPoint files to the converter. Batch importing is also supported.

Step 4 To make sure the exported video can be played perfectly on Xperia Z, click "Settings" button and enter "Profile" panel. The phone's resolution is 1920 * 1080 pixels, we set the video size as “1920  * 1080” and audio codec as “AAC“.

Step 5 Click the big and black "Start" button to start conversion. Depends on file size and video format, it usually takes a couple of minutes to convert a PowerPoint file to video. When the conversion is finished, just connect the Xperia Z to computer with USB cable and transfer the video. Enjoy watching PowerPoint on Sony Xperia Z!

Highlights of the new OS

Despite the lack of big surprises from both smartphones, there are some highlights brought to BB fans by the BlackBerry 10 OS.

BlackBerry Peek and BlackBerry Hub. BlackBerry 10 supports multitask by sliding to open or minimize an app. With the help of BlackBerry Peek, user can view series of information on BlackBerry Hub by sliding from the left edge of screen to the right. As to the BlackBerry Hub, it's an integrated interface with messaging, social content, etc.

BlackBerry Hub
BlackBerry Hub
BlackBerry Balance. A function allows user to switch modes between Life and Work with a simply gesture. Wallpapers, apps and even content from app store could be customized in the 2 modes.

BlackBerry Messenger. The BBM is similar to apple's FaceTime and Google's GTalk. It's a function which supports live video chat, as well as projects screen to receiver remotely to show apps, pics, etc.
BBM
BlackBerry Remember. A place to keep on top of all user's files, tasks and notes. It is integrated right into the BlackBerry Hub. User can flag messages, assign due dates, take voice notes, add attachments and pull in contacts. It also integrates with Evernote account to bring all notes into one simple BlackBerry Remember app.
BlackBerry Remember
Apps. The BlackBerry company also announced there are currently more than 70,000 apps available for BlackBerry 10. This should be the most ever for a new device, compared with iOS, Android and WP8 gadgets. (But I still wonder if there are some suitable apps to watch PowerPoint on BlackBerry Z10 & Q10, other than using built-in Documents To Go app)

Conclusion

The company has made up its mind to catch up with iPhone and Android phones in the market. As HLNtv said, BlackBerry is like dinosaurs, there was a time when they ruled the earth. Now they’re just hoping to avoid the same fate. Take a look at the global smartphone market share in 2012, iOS and Android still lead. Besides BB diehards, I can't find a reason for other people to change their iPhone/Android phone to a BlackBerry.

Full HD 5-Inch Display, Enjoy Playing PowerPoint on Oppo Find 5

Random question: How many smartphone brands can you list in 30 seconds without searching on Google? Apple, Samsung, Motorola, LG, Sony, Nokia, htc... Well, perhaps you're familiar with these international brands just because you not only hear about them but probably use their products.
Oppo Find 5
The Oppo Find 5
Today I'm not planning to talk about the above brands. Along with the popularity of open-sourced Android, more and more formerly unpopular manufacturers start to produce their smartphones, one of them is Oppo, a Chinese company. Last month, Oppo announced a new phone model named Find 5, which will be sold in China at the end of January.

For specifications, the Oppo Find 5 is equipped with a 5.0-inch IPS LCD screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels and outstanding 441 ppi. It's powered by a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 quad-core, graphics are crunches by an Adreno 320 GPU. This handset has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of build-in storage (no microSD slot). As to cameras, the phone comes with a 13 MP rear camera with dual LED and a 1.9 MP front-facing one. A 2500 mAh battery keeps the lights on and Android 4.1.2 is installed on the machine.
Oppo Find 5
The Oppo Find 5
The Oppo Find 5 has quite lots of highlights: the extremely fast quad-core CPU, 3.25 mm super-thin bezel, most advanced camera and the high-end "Dirac HD" audio sound systems. Of course, the most important one that catches my eyes is its large screen. As Oppo's official website says, the high-definition display "allows you to experience a world of crystal clarity and the most realistic colors". It could be an enjoyment of watching HD movies or viewing PowerPoint on Oppo Find 5.

According to gizchina's report, the Oppo Find 5 will be available in China on January 29. The 16 GB version is priced at 2,998 yuan ($485) while the 32 GB version is 3,298 yuan ($530). Moreover, as what Oppo said last month, the model would also be sold in North America and Europe soon (probably Q1), at $500 for the 16 GB version and $570 for the 32 GB version in the USA market.

How to View PowerPoint on Nokia Lumia 920?

View PowerPoint on Nokia Lumia 920
"The world’s most innovative smartphone", that's how Nokia describes its new flagship --- Lumia 920. After abandoned Symbian and Meego, Nokia's newest smartphone with Windows Phone 8 brings us surprises: a 4.5 ''  display with 1280 * 768 pixels resolution, a 8.7 MP PureView rear camera and new wireless charging technology. Though sales of the Lumia 920 have been well behind the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3, this handset still has been sold out in quite a lot of countries since available in November 2012.

So what are the reasons for getting this phone? Besides entertainment, another basic and usual requirement is to view PowerPoint on Nokia Lumia 920. It would be ironic if a Windows Phone can't play Office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Thanks to Microsoft, users can watch PowerPoint on Lumia 920 with its build-in mobile Office application.

The mobile version of Office has several features:
  • Basic editing, add comments on a Word file.
  • Edit, add formulas and move among pages on Excel spreadsheet.
  • Download PowerPoint documents and move or hide slides (without much editing capability).
From the above introduction we know some advantages of Office on Lumia 920. However, the mobile Office app can't do everything the same as the computer version. Moreover, it's weird and uncomfortable for people to tap on the screen to edit a PowerPoint slide on a keyboard-free device. Therefore, a more suitable way to enjoy playing PPT on Lumia 920 is to convert PowerPoint to video formats. The animated effects and the content would not be affected during conversion. Now let's have a look at the conversion process.

Step 1: Download, install and launch PPT to Lumia 920 video converter, a powerful tool that helps convert PowerPoint to Nokia Lumia 920 videos.

Step 2: On the user interface of converter, click "Add" button to import PowerPoint files (supports batch importing).

Step 3: Click the Profile drop-down menu and select a proper video format. For example, I choose "HD MPEG4 Video(*.mp4) as the output format.

Step 4: To make sure the converted PowerPoint can be played perfectly on Lumia 920, we need to click Settings button and enter Profile panel. Set the video size as “1280  * 768” and audio codec as “AAC“.

Step 5: Click the big black Start button to convert PPT files to MP4 videos for Lumia 920. When it's finished, transfer the videos to the phone and play them for free!
